White Bear Read aims to promote reading and community togetherness through a variety of activities including book discussions, a student film festival, author appearances, guest speaker presentations and more.

Three titles have been chosen for this program including Tales of the Road: Highway 61 by Cathy Wurzer, Winter War by William Durbin for the elementary-aged reader and Memory Boy by Will Weaver for middle school children.

White Bear Reads is funded with money from the vote of Minnesota residents on November 4, 2008, which dedicated funding to preserve our state's art and cultural heritage.
