Mr. Weaver lives in Northern Minnesota, a region he writes from and loves. He is an avid outdoorsman, and enjoys hunting, fishing, canoeing and hiking with his family and friends.

Memory Boy (2001) is set in July 2008, and the Newell family, consisting of jazz drummer father, feisty mother, and teens Miles and Sarah, leave suburban Minneapolis to escape to the safety and isolation of their summer cabin. A poignant subplot involving Miles' oral history project provides the key to the family's survival. Lake Country Booksellers will sell copies of this book at the program.
