UnReserved: Emerging Arts Station is a partnership between local schools and Ramsey County Library created to promote creativity and art in our neighborhoods. UnReserved provides a sustainable way for young artists to contribute to their community through rotating exhibitions that are peer organized and centralized onto one flat screen television.

In conjunction with UnReserved, Ramsey County Library would like to invite teens to create a new video installation with The BodyCartography Project.

Co-directed by dance and video artists Olive Bieringa and Otto Ramstad, The BodyCartography Project investigates the physical resonance of space in urban, natural, domestic and social landscapes through dance, video and installation work.

Through the lens of the camera, we will lead beginning filmmakers into the world of movement. Together we explore movement and stillness as a focus for the content for our movies. Movement and stillness of the environment, the performers and the camera itself. We will practice the essentials of camera technique and the physical and perceptual techniques that support them.

This program is funded with money from the vote of Minnesota residents on November 4, 2008, which dedicated funding to preserve our state's art and cultural heritage.
